J. Fried: “Outstanding…Read more
I purchased these binoculars just before leaving on a trip to New Zealand, where we would be viewing birds and other wildlife. They have outstanding optics and clarity. They are small enough to put in a small jacket pocket, but in spite of their small size, they somehow let in an incredible amount of light. At some birding venues, larger binoculars were provided by the venue likely lower quality , but none had an image as bright or clear as these. While I am not an expert in binoculars, and am not a birder , my research on binoculars led me to believe that all else being equal, the amount of light that larger binoculars let in is the main advantage to the larger size. At least in daytime, the image with these binoculars was incredibly bright. I did not use them at night, so there could be more of an issue if they will be used in lower light conditions. Like some others, I was a bit disappointed they do not come with protective caps.
